Listen to this cool Partner story my friend just relayed to me...

She was recently hired to work in Athens as the Production Manager for an international fashion show (created by Greek designer Marios Schwab and designer label Zeus + Dione).

2 weeks prior the pressure was on and she found herself negotiating via email / telephone with various teams who she'd never met - no simple feat!

Since the show was taking place in an old boat yard, abandoned for more than 30 years, the logistics were a nightmare! Even getting running water was a battle! To spice things up even more, the night before the show the model count increased from 35 to 55, which meant more team members needed and more negotiating for a significantly bigger budget. The pressure was on!

Amazingly my friend acheived the near impossible, getting everything her team needed by using her Partner Powers and ensuring the show ran like clock work!

Here are some of the Partner skills she applied to get more of what she wanted at crunch time:

• No use of the word BUT anywhere/anyhow - emails, texts OR spoken!
  
• Kept a soft smile and slowed down when requesting what she needed, (especially when interacting with people whose mother tongue was not English)
  
• When the temperature of a conversation heated up, she showed empathy and repeated what they said; "If I understand correctly ... Is that right?
  
• Under promised and over delivered where she could!
  
• Remained Partner even when she didn't get what she asked for - AND THEN, get this; ended up getting what she asked for anyway!
